Dhaka City Corporation Nagoric Maytree (CAPTA-Citizen Alliance for Promoting Transparency and Accountability) organized a discussion session and cultural program titled “National Election and Expectations of Youth” on 3 July evening at Rabindra Sharobar Mancha, Dhanmondi.
During the discussion part Member of Parliament Moyeen Uddin Khan Badal, Fazle Hossain Badsha and Advocate Sanjida Khanam were present as guest speakers. Nazma Sultana Lily presented the key speech, Professor Dr. A S M Atiqur Rahman and Professor Dr. Mahbuba Nasrin, both from University of Dhaka, also spoke on behalf of Nagoric Maytree and as youth representatives Asmaul Husna Surovi and Humayon Kabir Sumon upheld their expectations. Latifa Akand, honorable member of Nagoric Maytree presided the meeting. Sabina Pervin, secretary member of CAPTA moderated the discussion session and the cultural part was moderated by Nirmal Das. In the cultural session Azam Khan, Shahjahan Munshi, Fahmida Nabi, Shahed and the band Meghdal showed vigorous performances. The government’s initiatives regarding youth issues, planning about implementing pledges made for youth and some specific demand and expectations on behalf of the youth were focused throughout the program.
