Dhaka Mohanagar Nagoric Maytree CAPTA (Citizen Alliance for Promoting Tranceperancy and Accountability) and EWG (Election Working Group) arranged a program titled SHOCHSO NIRBACHON O JOBABDIHIMULOK JATIO SANGSHOD CHAI in Central Shahid Minar compound on 25 December 2008. The programs were divided in two session, discussion part and cultural program.

The speakers said that new generation want to see the proper implementation of electoral manifesto and commitment from coming Government and they need to play an active role for establishing an effective Parliament. Speakers also focused on the expectations and commitment of young, women, physically challenged and minority group voters. they also said that we all need to cooperate for a free & fair election. Ahmed Shawpan Mahmud, Executive Director, VOICE Chaired the discussion part. Mojammel Haque, Acting Country Director, ADD; Prodip K Roy, SUPRO; H.M Noman, BMPS; Taleya Rehman, Executive director, Democracy Watch; Akmat Ali Mia, WAVE Foundation; Joty Chattapadday, IED; Noman Ahmed Khan, IED; Mohsin Ali; Executive Diractor; WAVE Foundation; Md. Nurul Hasan, Joint Director, BCDJC; Shila Tasnim Haque, The Asia Foundation; Akter Hossain, Jatio Trinomul Protibondhi Forum were present and kept their valuable speech. About 700 number of voter’s perticipated the program. Awareness raising songs and drama on electoral issue were performed in cultural session. Sabina Pervin, District Coordinator, EWG moderate the program.
